Micael Öberg: musician, drummer, educator. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden on the 7th of September 1970. His strength lies in his versatility. One day he can be doing a Country recording date and the next day turn around and be doing anything from Jazz, Rock and/or Soul. The general perception of him as a live musician is that he listens and gives the other musicians what they want. Dynamics and the overall sound picture are important to him. Micael that everything shouldn't sound the same but that the sound and 'feel' of a performance is as important as timing and communication. As an eductor he is appreciated for his way of getting the message across. The ideal that propels Micael's method of teaching is a firm grounding in the fundaments of musicianship, stick technique, communication and reading. In this way, students receive the tools that they need in order to be able to choose their future direction. In Micael's philosophy all musics are related. Based on this idea, Micael maintains that the responsibility of the educator to open peoples eyes so that musical development can occur. In this way lessons become not a monolog but a dialog. Said about Micael: "What a hell of a drummer!" - Claes Yngström "He's steady and stable. The gig is going to be great." - Eddie Oliva "It's really nice to play with a drummer who listens." Claees Bure (fd Forbes). "Hey check this out: these two takes sound like two different drummers!" JPW Micael has performed and/or recorded with (among others): Pierre Swärd, Jair-Rohm Parker Wells, Jon Ben Berger, Derrick Walker, Eddie Oliva, Erica Sjöström, Linus Wahlgren, Kelvin Brougthon, Palle Wagnberg, Sound Express, Marie Sandberg, Åsa Wännström.

Sorry to hear you aren't getting much out of that site. Although not everyone is trying to double bass fast. A lot of the people on the site are new to drumming and their musical taste hasn't matured. So they are still into heavy metal. They haven't realized yet that other styles of music are fun to play as well. I think someone like you could offer a lot of great information for those new drummers.
I see you found me on freedrumlessons.com. What do you think of that site? I love it. It has so much information on it. I found this site through that site. Hopefully some day thedrumfill will have as many as freedrumlessons.
Welcome to the Drum Fill! Thanks for signing up and adding all kinds of great content... I am going to check out some of your music this evening. Cheers.
