There's too many to name, but basically anything by Zeppelin (John Bonham) like The Song Remains The Same, or the live version of Whole Lotta Love. Love to try and keep up with jazz classics too, but can't play them note for note. Love playing Melle…

Paul, That sounds like a great idea, I agree that sharing video ideas would be cool. YouTube is pretty terrible for posting drum vids on though, Adrian probably has some insight as to a great hosting site that actually keeps the audio and video syn…

Tell us a little about yourself:
Welcome! James Babcock is my name, and I am a drummer living in Northern Alberta, Canada. I have a good amount of stage and studio experience and enjoy learning new things about my instrument each day. I have great energy and a lot of drive and passion to offer.

Over the past 20yrs I have had the great opportunity to play in some very busy cover bands and gained a wealth of real world knowledge along the way. Some things you just can't read in a book and learn, it's been great fun learning along the way. I have learned to setup and run the bands sound from my position behind the drums. Learned to book and keep my band busy, build a website and develop a following, and most of all learned that there is a LOT of driving involved in being in a busy cover band! :-)

Five sets a night, three nights a week for 40+ weekends a year will certainly help you figure out really quick what works on stage and what doesn't. I am a solid drummer that enjoys laying down a great groove for people to dance to.

I have the capability to record live drum tracks in my home with some great gear and am learning some great production skills along the way as well. Drop me a line if you are looking for a drummer to fill in on a gig or two, record some tracks for you or just jam for some fun.

I love to help out when I can, especially if it is something that I had to learn with little help. I enjoy helping those just getting started with music and hopefully making their journey an easier one.

ya theres no bass player so i wanted to write my own bass lines like on a multiple tap pad or a synthesizer not just for bass lines but also little sounds effects in the back ground like disturbed has.
I am just not sure at a beginner stage whats good, whats a good price and what is user friendly.

Thanks James! Appreciate the comments very much... and yeah you're right, some drummers look at me strange when they see 'style' is all... some do however say "yeah that looks a lot easier"... :)

Yeah you are definitely right about loving to play more with a kit I like. I didn't get to set them up until just a little while ago. I had to go out of town early the next morning. The kit looks brand new. Even the heads look new. I spent some time tuning the heads but will have to do some more tomorrow when I am fresh. Thanks again for all your help with it.

James,
Well, I went and looked at the kit and fell in love with it. I can't wait to set it up and play it. I am going out of town early tomorrow morning so I won't be able to play it until it get back. But the kit is beautiful. Thanks so much for giving me the information on this kit.

James,
So the bass is 22. Would be nice if I read the ad better. When I spoke to the guy on the phone I thought he said 18". But he is selling more than one kit so he must have mixed them up. So it seems it is a rock kit. Well, I will give it a look and see how it sounds. I will definitely check the badges on the drums. I misunderstood the ad in a couple of ways. I thought he was selling cymbals with it but it looks as though it is just the stands and there are only 3 rack toms instead of 4 like I had originally thought. It does look like a nice kit. I just hope it is the sound I'm looking for. I will let you know how I make out.
Thanks
Kathy
